What is a Domain name?
Posted by Tan Fang Wai (Import) on 02 September 2005 04:02 PM
We would like to put the definition of domain name in layman terms. Basically a domain name is what identifies a server on the Internet in human readable form for eg 8toinfinity.com. To a machine 8toinfinity.com is a number 203.81.50.138, but we know it as 8toinfinity.com. Using a name 8toinfinity.com helps human beings identify this server better. That is a domain name.
